Vtg Alton “Watch of the Hour” Brass Presentation Display Box Purple Velvet USA

Vintage Alton Watch Company countertop presentation/display box, marked “Alton — Watch of the Hour — Cased and Timed in U.S.A.” on the gold-stamped satin lid lining. Brass frame with purple/aubergine velvet exterior, deep purple velvet interior, and a red leather watch bed. Likely used as a jewelry counter or store display piece, mid-20th century. Box Only!  Condition: Age-appropriate wear. Brass shows tarnish and light spotting. Velvet has thinning/wear in spots. Satin lid lining shows creasing and soiling. Red leather insert has flaking/loss (see photos).
