【Ultra Rare】Tokyo Gas LNG Introduction Commemorative Tabletop Tanker Lighter, Penguin Brand, 1969

A Gem Adorning Japan's Energy History: Tokyo Gas LNG Introduction Commemorative Table Lighter (1969)

This is an extremely rare Penguin brand table gas lighter, distributed to related parties in 1969 (Showa 44) to commemorate Japan's first introduction of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

Encased within a solid acrylic block is a precise miniature of the world's first large-scale LNG tanker that transported LNG from Kenai, Alaska, to Negishi, Yokohama. The base features a nautical chart of the North Pacific and is inscribed with LNG Introduction Commemorative TOKYO GAS.

This is more than just a lighter; it's a collector's item with immense historical value, telling the story of the energy revolution that supported Japan's period of high economic growth.
